39 steps poster 10.11.22 edited rights V2 Low Res.jpg

Friday February 24th - Sunday 12th March

Directed by John Rowland.
Produced by David Runnalls.

Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of fruity melodrama and you have the intriguing, thrilling, riotous and unmissable comedy. The show hurtles a notorious fugitive and a spellbound blonde from a London music hall north by northwest to Scotland’s most remote highlands. Will they save Britain from a den of devious spies?
A cast of six actors plays over 25 characters in this fast-paced tale of an ordinary man on an extraordinarily entertaining adventure. The 39 Steps contains every single legendary scene from the award-winning movie - including the chase on the Flying Scotsman, the escape on the Forth Bridge, the bi-plane crash and the sensational death-defying finale in the London Palladium.

This will be performed as a radio play with sound effects and props.

Buried Child by Sam Shepard is a macabre look at an American Midwestern family with a dark, terrible secret. This play brought its author the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Although dark in many respects, it is delivered with humour and pathos. Heavily atmospheric and challenging, the play will entrance its audience with questions of morality and it's take on the disintegration of the American dream. There is hope however, as the final moments of the play suggest salvation with a surprise ending.

22nd and 23rd July

An Australian Folk Musical by Helen Begley

It is April, 1833 and a ship full of women leaves from Britain, bound for Australia. With only a single box of necessities below deck, 287 single and free women must endure four gruelling months at sea. What waits for them at sea will determine their survival.  What waits for them in Sydney will determine their success.

The women’s story is nationally significant, the execution, spare and essential. Two actors are required to portray thirteen characters. Three musicians are tasked with underscoring seventeen songs and ninety minutes of theatre.
