Introduction to Playwriting Course

Are you:

•    A theatre lover wanting to create your own show?

•    An actor looking to write your own material?

•    A writer looking for a different medium to tell your stories?

•    Someone seeking a new creative challenge?

This course will help you take an idea and develop it into a short play, whatever your motivation.

No experience is required, the course is suitable for writers of all levels. It is for anyone interested in developing their storytelling skills and joining a creative community within the Macedon Ranges.

Guided by experienced playwright and director, Alexander Gibbs, participants will spend four sessions workshopping their ideas to help build out their stories and characters, with the intent that participants will be able to complete a short play after the final session.

The Mount Players are keen to provide guidance and opportunities for local playwrights and to assist in getting any completed work in front of an audience.

The Course will be run across four Sundays (2.30pm - 4.30pm) at the Mountview Theatre.
